  1. Participation and management of the research project

The Institute for SME Research at the University of Mannheim is investigating the consulting needs of people interested in setting up a company. The information within the questionnaires is necessary for the implementation of the research project "Start-up support and start-up environment in Germany", without this information participation in the research project is not possible. There are no disadvantages in case of non-participation. Especially not in the field of start-up support.

  1. With appropriate consent: E-mail address and telephone number to receive information on follow-up surveys in the project "Start-up support and start-up environment in Germany" (hereinafter: invitations to follow-up surveys)
  1. With appropriate consent: Transfer of the following data to the counselling centre for the preparation of the counselling interview and for quality assurance purposes of the counselling centre:
    • Motivation for setting up a company
    • Status in the foundation process
    • Planned products and services
    • Participations/starting-up as a sideline
    • Content requirements for the consultation
    • Desired form and type of consultation
    • Access routes to start-up advice

In the event that one or more of the above (additional) consents are not granted, there will be no disadvantages, not even with regard to your start-up support.

  1. In case of consent, the data mentioned under 2.3 will be transmitted to your counselling centre.
  1. E-mail address and telephone number (for invitations to follow-up surveys): Staff member responsible within the University of Mannheim for the organisation of research projects at the Institute for SME Research, provided you have consented to receive invitations to follow-up surveys.

In addition, in accordance with the legal regulations governing archives, documents must be offered to the university archives before they are deleted. The archive decides on the acceptance of documents.

 

  1. Duration of the Storage
  1. All research data will be retained for ten years after completion of the project.
  1. The University of Mannheim has no influence on how long the counselling centres store the transmitted data. Please contact your counselling centre for further information.

If necessary, the documents are taken over by the responsible university archive, where they are usually kept indefinitely.

 

  1. Your rights
  1. You have the right to obtain information from the University of Mannheim about the data stored about you and/or to have incorrectly stored data corrected.
  1. You also have the right of deletion or restriction of processing or the right to object to processing.
  1. Furthermore, in the event that you have given your consent to further optional uses, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent until revocation.
