Alexander Rittweger (Alumni of Mannheim University) founded Payback 15 years ago jointly with Lufthansa AG, Metro AG and Roland Berger. The company has developed rapidly and became one of the leaders of customer lrelationship management in Germany. Today the company has more than 700 employees. Recently, the company was partly sold to an American Express one of the leading credit card companies.
