Two-day seminar in restructuring consulting (powered by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants) - Application opens


Are you interested in strategic consulting and business restructuring? The Institute for SME Research at the University of Mannheim offers a two-day training to gain insights into this arcane profession. The workshop includes a restructuring simulation of a challenging real-life restructuring scenario. Participants will solve realistic and typical turnaround case issues and – using role play exercises – will put themselves into the position of various parties involved (banks, enterprise, consultants, etc.) to experience what operative turnaround management is about.

The workshop includes a restructuring simulation of a challenging real-life restructuring scenario. Participants will solve realistic and typical turnaround case issues and – using role play exercises – will put themselves into the position of various parties involved (banks, enterprise, consultants, etc.) to experience what operative turnaround management is about. Moreover, students have the opportunity get together with consultants from Roland Berger - Germany’s leading restructuring consultancy – to discuss career & internship opportunities.

The workshop will be instructed by Mr. Georg Harenberg who is a successful entrepreneur in Berlin („Life is Good“ GmbH / CARAS Gourmet / ~ 100 employees). Mr. Harenberg has a distinguished track record in restructuring at several large consultancies and is an internationally known specialist trainer for restructuring consulting. He is alumnus of the University of Mannheim (Dipl.-Kfm.) and holds an MBA (with honors from Beta Gamma Sigma Society) from Columbia University (New York) in Finance and Economics. The workshop will take place on April 26 (9:00-18:00) & April 27 (9:00-~14:30), in L9, 1-2, room 210.
