Die Leistungen des baden-württembergischen Mittelstands bewegen sich nach wie vor auf hohem Niveau, aber die betriebliche Entwicklung zeigt eine gewisse Spreizung: Denn die wirtschaftlich treibenden Kräfte und auch die Beschäftigtenzugewinne kamen in den letzten Jahren eher bei den mittleren und größeren Unternehmen zur Geltung. Demgegenüber haben vor allem die Kleinstbetriebe, Soloselbständigen und Neugründungen spätestens seit 2015 relativ an Bedeutung verloren. Diese Gewichtsverlagerung ist nicht nur in Baden-Württemberg, sondern bundesweit und gleichzeitig in einem breiten Spektrum an Branchen zu beobachten. Und sie ist nicht allein das Ergebnis der Pandemie, denn eine Verlangsamung des Wachstums „von unten“ war teils schon in den Vorjahren zu konstatieren. Gleichwohl wurde die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung im Mittelstand in hohem Maße durch die Begleiterscheinungen der Covid-19-Krise überschattet, deren Auswirkungen derzeit noch nicht in vollem Umfang abzuschätzen ist – zumal der Krieg in der Ukraine weitere Belastungen nach sich zieht. mehr... |
