Prof. Dr. Franciele Beck


Franciele Beck is a professor in the Accounting Department at the Regional University of Blumenau (FURB) and has been teaching master's and Ph.D. courses since 2017. She served as a member of the Research Evaluation Commission at FURB from 2019 to 2023. Additionally, she holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Accounting Universe Review and works as a reviewer/referee for over ten journals in the business and accounting fields, both nationally and internationally.

Since 2019, Franciele has been leading the research group "Research in Controllership and Management Information Systems." She has been a member of the Research Laboratory on Management Practices (LPPG) at the Actuarial Department of the Faculty of Economics, Administration, Accounting, and Actuaries at the University of São Paulo (FEA/USP) since 2014, under the coordination of Professor Fábio Frezatti. Her research interests include management control systems, controllers’ role and controllership structure, organizational slack, strategic planning and budget process, governance and sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation management, and family business management.

Franciele Beck holds a Ph.D. in Controllership and Accounting from the University of São Paulo (2017), a Master's in Accounting from the Regional University of Blumenau (2013), and a Bachelor of Accounting from the Regional University of Blumenau (2011). She has contributed articles to various national and international journals, such as the Journal of Management and Governance, Journal of the Knowledge Economy, Journal of Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies, International Journal of Business Innovation and Research, and Revista de Contabilidade e Finanças (RC&F), among others. Franciele has actively participated in several national and international conferences in the field of Controllership and Accounting, including the STEP Project Global Consortium (2023), New Direction (2020), Family Business in the Arab World Conference (2020), IFERA - International Family Enterprise Research Academy (2010), LAEMOS - Latin American and European Organization Studies (2018), QRCA - Qualitative Research and Critical Accounting (2018), and FERC - Family Enterprise Research Conference (2016, 2017), as well as numerous conferences in Brazil, such as the USP International Conference in Accounting and ANPCONT Congresses.

She has received various scientific awards, including recognition for the best paper presented at the VIII ANPCONT Congress, best reviewer awards in Controllership and Management Accounting at the XI ANPCONT, and best reviewer in Management Accounting for ASAA JOURNAL - Advances in Scientific and Applied Accounting. In 2011, she was awarded for being the best student in the Accounting Sciences Course at CCSA - Center for Applied Social Sciences, Regional University of Blumenau, which was also recognized by the Accountants Professional Class (CRCSC) and by a prominent Brazilian auditing company (Actus Auditores).
